Shafter, CA
On September 30th, at approximately 21:15 hours, Kern County Fire units responded to a report of a structure fire at 445 Mark Avenue in Shafter. First in units were faced with a well involved attached garage fire that was rapidly spreading to the main house and threatening the next door house as well. A search was completed for any occupants while the fire was being knocked down. Extensive overhaul was necessary to complete extinguishment. Cause remains under investigation but appears to be accidental in nature. Loss is estimated at $45,000 with a $40,000 save.
