At 08:30 a.m. on 02/04/17, Kern County Fire Department responded to a single family structure fire at the 8500 block of Farmers Lane. Crews arrived on scene to find a single family resident 80% involved with fire. Fire crews made an aggressive attack to contain the fire in 20 minutes and was able to conduct a primary and secondary search of the home. Prior to arrival, the father and brother of the resident made a heroic rescue by pulling four children out of their home safely. All family members were treated and transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
