Structure Fire - 500 Block Kenmar Lane, Arvin

At approximately 4:45 P.M. The Kern County Fire Department received the call of a high pressure gas leak south of Arvin near the Sycamore Canyon Golf Course. Crews arrived on scene to find a large diameter natural gas distribution line venting at a pressure relief station. Crews took precautionary actions of evacuating a single home south of the incident and the club house that was holding an event for approximately fifty people. PG&E crews notified the KCFD that the gas line was venting as it should and there were no immediate risks. There were no reported injuries or damage. Crews stayed on scene for several hours monitoring the progress of the gas line shut down. The evacuations have since been lifted and residents were allowed to return.
