Golden Hills, CA

At 12:30 a.m. fire crews responded to reports of a grass fire in the 19000 block of Lookout Place in Golden Hills.  The fire was in the wildland urban interface and was threatening homes in the area.  Helicopter 408 was placed on standby due to the threat to structures, but was cancelled prior to arrival. Quick actions by ground crews halted forward progress of the fire, using hose lays and a handcrew from KCFD. The fire was kept to approximately 3 acres and no homes were damaged. Fire crews will remain on scene to strengthen containment lines and mop up hot spots for several more hours. The cause of this fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported by civilians or firefighters.
