Bakersfield, CA

At 03:50 a.m. the Kern County Fire Department received calls for a structure fire in the 300 block of McCord Avenue in Bakersfield, CA. First on scene crews found a double-wide mobile home with heavy smoke and flames in more than fifty percent of the structure. The fire was beginning to threaten nearby mobile homes and vehicles. After confirming all occupants had evacuated from the involved structure, the first in crew began ensuring that nearby homes were evacuated and protecting those threatened structures. Next-in crews started successfully extinguishing the fire to mitigate the exposure threat. Within a matter of minutes the fire was knocked down and contained to the mobile home of origin. After an initial investigation, Arson Investigators were able to determine that the cause was arson. This incident is an active investigation, and as such, no other information is being released at this time. More information will be released as it is made available. There were no injuries sustained to firefighters or civilians.
