The Kern County Fire Department is pleased to announce the promotion of Brent Moon and Benny Wofford to the rank of Deputy Chief. Our four Deputy Chiefs oversee the operation of the Fire Department and manage various programs. They work directly beneath Fire Chief Brian Marshall. Chief Marshall had this to say about the promotions: "It is always a great pleasure to see our people advance and take on new leadership roles. I look forward to what the future holds for the Kern County Fire Department."

Brent Moon was hired by KCFD in 1984. In addition to his role as a Battalion Chief, he has managed our Radio Program. He has also been involved with Incident Management Teams and our Heavy Rescue Division.

Benny Wofford was hired by KCFD in 1986. In addition to serving as a Battalion Chief, he has been the Kern County Fire Marshall for the past five years, overseeing our Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement Units.
