At 11:29 p.m. the Kern County Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 900 block of 7th Street. Crews arrived on scene to find smoke and fire coming from the roof of the structure. Crews initiated a rapid attack on the fire and protected nearby exposures. Fire damage was contained to the roof area in a parapet. A rapid response by Kern County Engines from Wasco and the surrounding communities contained the fire to a small area saving over $350,000 of the building and contents
