At approximately 12:45 a.m. the Kern County Fire Department received a call for a fire in brush and timber near the Y intersection of Cuddy Valley Road and Mil Potrero Highway in Frazier Park.  First arriving crews found a van approximated 75 over the side of a steep ravine with brush and timber on fire.  Hall Ambulance was dispatched. Crews were hampered by very steep terrain, but were able to hike down the hill and confirm no occupants in the vehicle. Hall ambulance was cancelled after confirmation of no civilians on scene. Crews were then able to turn their attention to fighting the fire.  Using hose packs, units were able to get hose lines around the fire quickly and limit the spread to under 2 acres.  No homes were threaded, but two nearby camps were advised to briefly shelter in place. All shelter advisements have been lifted and no injuries to fire personnel was reported. A forest service hand crew and several Kern Fire units will remain on scene for a few hours for mop up. Cause of the fire was a Vehicle.
