Golden Hill, CA

On Saturday at around 2:50 in the afternoon, the Kern County Fire Department received a call for a structure fire in the 20,000 block of White Street in Golden Hills.  Upon arrival crews were faced with smoke coming from the exterior roof area of a front patio. Only one person was home at the time and was safely evacuated prior to Fire Department arrival.  Using quick aggressive fire fighting tactics crews were able to keep the fire from extending into the attic space. The fire was declared out within 30 minutes of arrival.  The cause is under investigation. There were no injures to the public or firefighting personnel. The damage is estimated around $6,000 with an approximate save of $200,000
