Frazier Park, CA

Just after 12:30 AM this morning, the Kern County Fire  Department received a call for a structure fire at the 5300 block of Frazier Mountain Park Road. Crews arrived on scene to a two story 3000 square foot residential home with heavy smoke and flames seen. A second alarm was immediately dispatched. The first arriving crew encountered the porch on fire and spreading across 50% of the exterior. Due to the location, a water shuttle for water supply was set up 3 miles away which included 5 engines and Water Tender 67. Fire crews deployed hose lines to extinguish the fire and found that the fire had caused a roof collapse. Residents evacuated the home prior to the arrival of fire crews. One injury was reported for smoke inhalation, but the patient refused medical attention.  Freezing temperatures were a concern and were a safety factor for the crews, but the fire was extinguished within a few hours. Fifteen family members were displaced from the home and were sheltered with the American Red Cross.
