At approximately 04:40 a.m. the Kern County Fire Department received multiple calls for a structure fire in the 3000 Block of Abbott Drive. First arriving units encountered a single family dwelling with fire venting from the roof. An aggressive fire attack knocked the fire down within 20 minutes. A primary and secondary search revealed no victims within the structure. The structure appears to be a vacant home without occupants.  There were no injuries to civilian or fire personnel.  This fire is under investigation at this time. KCFD units remain on scene for mop up and overhaul. 

The Kern County Fire Department would like to remind you to check your smoke detectors regularly and replace the batteries every six months.
