8/24/2015 Resource Update

Yesterday, our Type 6 Patrol Strike Team of 17 firefighters left the Cuesta Fire and was reassigned to the Summit Fire that is burning near Big Bear Lake. These firefighters have been out of county since August 10th, when they were deployed to the Anza Fire.

Currently, there are 116 Kern County Firefighters supporting fires around the state.

Summit Fire: 17 Personnel

(1) Type 6 Strike Team (5 Patrols)

Cuesta Fire: 25 Personnel

(1) Hot Shot Crew (20 Personnel), 1 Dozer Strike Team (2 Bull Dozers, 5 Personnel)

Rough Fire: 34 Personnel

(1) OES Type 3 Strike Team (11 KCFD Personnel), (2) Incident Management Teams (17 Personnel), (4) Fireline Medics, (1) OES Water Tender (2 Personnel)

KCFD Firefighters are also supporting the Mad River Complex, Fork Complex, Gasquet Complex, and the River Complex.

KCFD Helicopter 407 and Crew (18 Personnel) are on standby for hoist rescue for the southern region of California out of Visalia Municipal Airport.
