At approximately 11:07 p.m. the Kern County Fire Department received multiple calls for a structure fire in the 700 block of Bennett Street. Responding crews were informed at dispatch that the reporting party thought there was a possible trapped occupant. The first arriving unit encountered a fully involved double wide trailer, with exposures on both sides showing signs of ignition due to radiant heat from primary structure. Engine 74 made contact with the residence and confirmed all occupants were out of the structure.  Crews quickly coordinated a defensive plan that was successful in keeping the fire contained to originating structure and protecting exposures on the two sides of the trailer. There were no injuries to civilian or fire personnel.

The Kern County Fire Department would like to remind you to check your smoke detectors regularly and replace the batteries every six months.
