Delano,  CA

At approximately 3:30 this morning, Kern County Fire Department received a call for a structure fire located at the 11000 block of Stradley Avenue in Delano, CA. Engine Crews arrived on scene and found a fully involved structure and immediately called for a second alarm response. The father was awoken by his children screaming and the family of 3 adults and 5 children and their dog were able to escape the fire.

   
Water supply for the incident was an issue, but crews immediately set a water shuttle to support the fire operations. The nearest water supply was a mile away, but crews established the rotation and after the fourth engine arrived a steady flow of water was created. The home was a total loss and Red Cross was contacted for the family. Fire is under investigation.
