Delano,  CA

At approximately 4:00 p.m., the Kern County Fire Department received a call for a structure fire located at the 1500 block of Clinton Street in Delano, California. Fire Crews arrived on scene to find a mass amount of fire coming from the structure and endangering the exposures of neighboring residences. A reinforced structure response was immediately requested; within five minutes fire crews protected the exposures from the east and west sides and kept them to no damage. Incident Commander ordered all crews to make a defensive attack due to the roof collapsing. No injuries were reported and with no damage to exposures, fire crews were able to protect them with a save of approximately a $150,000 per house. The abandon structure was a complete loss. Fire crews from other locations of Kern County moved up to cover Delano and kept Delano from being unprotected. The fire is under investigation.
