Rosamond, CA

Just before 5:30 this afternoon, the Kern County Fire  Department received multiple calls for a house on fire with smoke and flames visible. A reinforced structure response was started. Engine 15, stationed in Rosamond, saw smoke showing in route. When the crew arrived on scene they were faced with a 1500 sq. ft. double wide mobile home with fire coming from the back patio and the rear portion of the structure. Crews made an aggressive attack and were able to contain the fire to the rear of the structure, while protecting exposures near the structure. Crews were hampered with fire fighting efforts as high winds in the area increased fire activity. The home owners were not home at the time of the fire and are being assisted by Red Cross. There were no injuries reported.

Assisting  Agencies:   KCSO, CHP, So Cal Edison, Building Department, Hall Ambulance, Red Cross.
