Structure Fire - 2400 Block of Sierra Hwy, Rosamond

CURRENT SITUATION: Rosamond - Just after 9:00 PM on December 25th, the Kern County Fire Department received a call for heavy smoke and flames from a single-wide mobile home in the 2400 block of Sierra Hwy. A Reinforced Alarm was started by dispatchers. No residents were home at the time of the fire. The first arriving crew from Rosamond found smoke and flames visible from a bedroom window. Fire crews deployed a hose line and attacked the fire from the window. They then forced entry through the front door, conducted a primary search and extinguished the remainder of the fire, containing it to the bedroom of origin. The crew from Mojave arrived on scene and assisted with overhaul of the fire. The fire was controlled in approximately 20 minutes. Incoming resources from Tehachapi and Boron were cancelled.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The fire threatened other mobile homes that were in close proximity to the home on fire. Quick action by the Rosamond crew prevented the fire from spreading to these other units.

ASSISTING AGENCIES: None.
