Structure Fire - 300 Block of C Street, Arvin

Current Situation: At approximately 6:30AM fire crews were alerted to a report of several structures on fire on the 300 Block of C St. to the back of the home. On arrival crews witnessed four structures to the back of the residence, each structure approximately 400 sq ft. in size each, with access made via a rear alley, with fire and smoke showing. Crews made a quick attack on the fire to contain the fire from spreading to additional homes in the area. Additional arriving crews did a quick search of the structures and determined that all residents had been evacuated from the homes. Crews had difficulty accessing the homes due to downed power lines and limited access to the homes.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The displaced residents will be assisted by the landlord in locating new housing.

Cooperating Agencies: Arvin PD, Arvin Bldg. Dept., PG&E

Additional Information: The KCFD would like to remind everyone to have a working smoke detector in all homes and businesses.
