Structure Fire - 15430 Myer Road, Mojave

Current Situation: Firefighters arrived on scene of an 8 unit, single story, apartment complex with smoke and fire showing from the front of 2 units. Firefighters pulled multiple hose lines to the front and rear of the apartment complex.  Fire Attack made access to unit 6 and an aggressive fire attack stopped fire progression from continuing into the adjacent unit 7. Additional fire units entered unit 5 and aggressively attacked fire from continuing to unit 4. Engine 190, performed a trench cut on the roof for ventilation supported by fire attack units on the ground. The fire damaged both units 5 and 6, with water and smoke damage to units 7, 8, and 4.

The fire is under investigation currently for a possible cause.

Kern County Fire Department would like to remind all residents to install smoke alarms in your homes and maintain as required. Smoke alarms save lives!
