Fire Chief's Message

Welcome to the Kern County Fire Department's new website. The strategic goal of this effort is to build and maintain a dynamic and interactive website. It is our intent that through this medium we will be able to share information as close to real-time as possible, and to provide answers to questions submitted through the website. The development of our new site has also been driven by the County's new "Vision Statement":

"To create and maintain a customer-centered
County government designed to garner the confidence,
support and trust of the people we serve."

The Fire and Emergency Services Department is an integral part of Kern County's public protection resources that are committed to the County's new "Mission Statement":

"To enhance the quality of life in Kern County
by protecting and serving our citizens."

The approximately 710 men and women of the Kern County Fire Department are committed to providing the highest quality fire protection, emergency medical, and rescue services available to the 515,000 plus residents we protect. Emergency Services is committed to providing quality disaster preparedness, response, protection, mitigation, and recovery services to all of Kern County, including all of the political jurisdictions within it.
