KERN COUNTY, CA – On Saturday, February 27, 2010 at approximately 7:41 P.M., Kern County Fire Department responded to a multiple vehicle accident west of Kecks Rd. on Hwy. 46. Ten Kern County Firefighters responded to the incident, assisted by San Luis Obispo Fire Dept.

Upon arrival, the crews were faced with a head-on vehicle accident involving two vehicles. Crews assessed the scene treating seven patients, initiating a med-alert due to the number of patients. Three patients were classified as having severe injuries, one with moderate injuries and three with minor injuries.  Two of the patients had to be extricated from a vehicle.  Patients were transported to Bakersfield hospitals by air and ground ambulances.
